My Journey Through Depression and Recovery

There was a period when I was struggling with depression, and it affected both my mental and physical well-being. I often felt emotionally overwhelmed, irritated, low on energy, and unable to concentrate properly. I also found it difficult to communicate with people and sometimes wanted to isolate myself. Gradually, I understood that I needed help instead of trying to handle everything on my own.

Counselling played an important role in my recovery. It gave me a safe space to express my feelings, understand my emotions, and learn healthier ways of dealing with difficult situations. With time, I also started involving myself in different activities instead of remaining occupied with negative thoughts.

Learning music became one of the most meaningful parts of this journey. Practising music gave me something positive to focus on and helped me express myself. I also explored other skills and activities that kept my mind engaged and helped me regain confidence.

My message to other youngsters facing similar struggles is that they should not ignore what they are feeling or be ashamed of asking for help. Depression does not make anyone weak. Talking to someone, seeking professional support, learning new skills, and staying connected with positive activities can make a real difference. Recovery may take time, but it is possible.
